Sublimatio is the air element procedure. It has nothing to do with Freud's sublimation. Which is a compensation, exchange, substitution of one feeling or impulse for another.
Sublimatio is raising the spirit towards the Whole. It is the pursuit of perfection, union, unification, and letting go of everything along the way. We know who the person is by what he lets go. And for that, a person needs to know himself. Only then will she be her own master. This has to be done consciously and intentionally.
It was thought that it was necessary to spiritualize the body, but the issue is different. The body is already spiritualized. Only the person does not realize this. The ultimate substance of the body, the prima materia, is the Whole. Everything is already spiritualized. What is lacking is recognition of this. The point here is that this recognition changes everything. And change is something the ego desperately runs away from. Maintaining the status quo is a sacred thing for the ego. The comfort zone is sacred to the ego. Anything that threatens that is seen as the most dangerous thing there is. That's why Alchemy was practically relegated to oblivion.
To make Sublimatio you need a certain distance from reality. Let go of reality to be able to look in perspective. Exactly as historians do. One of the greatest challenges for historians is to determine the degree of ignorance of an era. Why did people act that way? With today's vision, it's easy to say that they should have done it this way or that, but what did they ignore back then? And what do we ignore today? The same mistakes are made because of what is ignored today.
Sublimatio is letting go. Raise, detach, etc. By doing this, we are able to make evolutionary leaps and at the same time become more efficient in dealing with concrete day-to-day problems. The more the person lets go, the more productive he is. It's an obvious thing. If we put pressure and anxiety, we make everything difficult, because it becomes an unnatural thing. A football team that enters the field desperate to win is unlikely to win. He will do everything in a hasty, messy way, each one trying to solve it for himself, without playing together, in a hurry and without efficiency. On the contrary, if the team enters the field happy and happy simply to play ball, it will do everything as efficiently as possible. If you win, you win, if you lose, you lose, that's okay. He did his best. That's what matters. In the series "Spartacus", in the last battle, there is a conversation between Spartacus and General Romano, who says that he has already lost. Spartacus replies that he will fight as best he can and that's what matters (quoted from memory). And that's exactly what matters. Fight the good fight. Spartacus fought for his own freedom and that of other slaves. This is Sublimation. He had already left his own life behind. When he didn't cross the Alps, he already knew he couldn't beat the Empire, but the important thing was the example. And for that, he is remembered to this day!
Sublimatio is the quest for the Philosopher's Stone. The only thing that really matters. This requires a total internal transformation of the physical being. Clear all atoms, quarks, etc. And this must be done consciously and make cleaning easier. Again: the ego runs away from it in every way. Virtually no ego does this of its own free will. Only after much suffering does he decide to let go. Just like the businessman who needs to go bankrupt to release the pressure he puts on the business. Or the one who wants to pay off debts and can't relax. The more pressure you put in, the smaller the result. Debts are already a sign of pressure put on for results. The more you think about debts, the more debts appear. You have to let go of everything. Then one can work with joy and solve everything. Beyond good and evil. In addition to debts. In addition to the results. In addition to winning or losing. In fact, anxiety is the cooking of Sublimation. The ego is boiled to the point where it lets go of everything. If the ego lets go first, it doesn't need to be cooked. The ego despairs not getting what it wants. And that's how in the end he'll let go of everything. It just doesn't have to be that way. It is possible to release it earlier.
It is said that the spirit is trapped in matter. He is only trapped because of attachment. If we consciously let go, we can go in and out of matter and work on both sides of reality. It is an attachment that prevents this. Sublimation is that detachment. You can get there in a short time or take many millennia. The thing is, Sublimation is working all the time. The ego is being worked on to let go. Slowly, gradually, second by second, incarnate or disembodied, the wheel turns without stopping. Like a baby that at birth is very small and helpless, but second, by the second it grows. Without realizing it, the parents will see that baby grow into an adult. They will continue to refer to him as the child, but he is already an adult. It matured day by day. Sublimatio does this. But in terms of millennia. Can the baby stop its own growth? Not. Is life. He will have to grow up. In the same way, Sublimation acts.
You need to let go. But, it's not a thing of letting go of the material world or the Earth and romantically wanting to go back to the spiritual side or dissolve into the universe or rest for eternity or any other conception. You can get stuck on the spiritual side, and have an attachment on the spiritual side, the same way you have an attachment here. Or one may be attached to staying in one of the dimensions of reality or the lower astral dimensions. The problem is attachment. It is not the location, the job, or any other condition. “To be in the world and not to be of the world”. Only in this way can one flow with the universe. To flow is to live intensely in the present moment, to be totally focused on the here now, focused on what you do. The feeling of flowing is what is called happiness. To be happy At that moment. The secret here is to focus on the here and now. As Zen explains. The archer becomes one with the bow and arrow. The dancer becomes one with the dance. The musician through whom the music passes through him. He is one with the music, one with the hoop, one with the ball and the basketball hoop. That's why they are sacred baskets. This unification is to be happy. That's letting go of everything else. And this can be done in any situation: eating a meal, we can be totally focused on the food and its reality, its texture, its aroma, its taste, etc. Focused on the work we are doing in a way that we no longer know whether it is night or day, whether we are hungry or not, whether we are tired or not. This focus in this way is Sublimation.
This way of seeing reality also allows one to dissociate oneself from oneself. It is possible to be centered on the act and see yourself from the outside. Get out of the body and have a vision of the global perspective. Enter and exit the body at will. To become a body or to become formless. Adopt the way you want while keeping your consciousness intact. This has to be done consciously. It is not an escape from reality. It's being focused on reality. Anyone who runs away from reality will return to it one way or another. No escape works. No means of escape works.
Every death/rebirth ritual is to bring about Sublimatio. So that the person can see the big picture of life. Understand all correlations, and manage all variables. At this point come the Archetypes that allow us to experience eternal existences without time and space limits. We can share in the Archetype's life as he can in ours. It's a win-win exchange. We can have the eternal experience of spirit while having a temporal life in the space/time continuum. There is no need to free oneself from matter or the body. It's being beyond. All is already in everything. The form is irrelevant. This is the final release.
